How fluent are your people, really?
Most AI training teaches tools. This course builds the discipline of governed AI use across your people — grounded in the 4 Ds framework, structured around the failure modes we see on real client engagements.
Why take it
Three things this course gives your team
01
A framework that holds up
The 4 Ds — Delegation, Description, Discernment, Diligence — is durable across models, tools, and roles. Memorable enough to use, rich enough to apply.
02
Interactive practice, not video
Four hands-on exercises throughout the course where learners diagnose AI failures, strengthen weak prompts, and apply judgement. Not a screencast tour of ChatGPT.
03
Built for org rollout
The free version is self-paced for individuals. Organisational deployment — branded certificates, role-specific cohorts, completion tracking — runs through our AI Enablement & Capability service.
The course
What your people will learn
Fourteen lessons across the 4 Ds, plus a synthesis lesson on the two loops and cognitive environments. Four interactive practice exercises — one per D — that build the working muscle.
Delegation
Decide what AI is for. Match the task to the tool. Know when to delegate fully, when to draft together, and when not to reach for AI at all.
Description
Tell the AI what you need with the five elements that matter: context, instruction, constraints, examples, output specification. Three lenses — Product, Process, Performance — for prompts that work.
Discernment
Read past the polish. Catch the factual, logical, and contextual errors. Diagnose sycophancy, hedging, evasion, and false certainty in AI behaviour.
Diligence
Verification, attribution, privacy, ethics. Take responsibility for what gets sent, shipped, or acted on — because the AI doesn't.
Working at the edge
The course closes with a synthesis lesson on the two loops (strategic and tactical), cognitive environments that compound across sessions, and the daily habits that distinguish fluent users from skilled-once users.
Sample practice
One exercise from the course
The course is built around interactive exercises, not multiple-choice quizzes. Here's one from the Description lesson, in full. No sign-up required.
Strengthen the prompt
A colleague has typed this prompt and is disappointed with what came back:
Which of these additions would meaningfully improve the prompt? Pick all that apply.
Who it's for
People doing real work with AI
Written for working professionals — analysts, writers, engineers, managers, designers — who want a structured way to get genuinely good at AI use. Also useful for team leads and AI champions making the case for capability investment internally.

COURSE FAQ
Questions buyers and learners ask
Yes — fully free with sign-up. The certificate is free. We monetise the organisational deployment, not the learning.
About three hours of lessons if you do it in one sitting. Most people take longer because progress saves and the practice exercises invite real thinking.
The Maturity Assessment asks where your AI program stands at the organisational level — board-ready, 27 questions, 15 minutes. The Fluency Course asks whether your people are actually capable — multi-lesson, hands-on, three hours. The two are complementary entry points for different buyers.
Most AI courses teach a tool (Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini). This course teaches the discipline of AI use — how to decide what to delegate, how to describe what you need, how to evaluate what you get, and how to be accountable for what you ship. The framework (Dakan & Feller's 4 Ds) is grounded in working practice, not vendor demos.

Yes — that's our AI Enablement & Capability service. Branded certificates with your organisation's name, completion tracking by team and role, role-specific cohorts, integrated with the Lastmile methodology. Book a Discovery call to scope it.
The 4 Ds (Delegation, Description, Discernment, Diligence) and the twelve subcomponents are drawn from the Dakan & Feller AI Fluency Framework. We've structured the curriculum, practice exercises, and assessment around what we see working — and failing — on real client engagements.
The free individual certificate is a PDF issued in your name, downloadable on demand. For organisational deployments, we issue verifiable credentials tied to your domain with an internal credential register, integrated with whatever HRIS or LMS you use.
